Policies and Guidelines

Bushwalking Victoria develops policies on major issues that affect bushwalking and recreational walking.

These policies underpin our advocacy for bushwalkers when dealing with land managers and government on outdoor recreation issues, preservation of natural areas, and the management of and access to public land.

Bushwalking Victoria also provides guidelines to assist member clubs to establish operating procedures for their needs.

The following draft policy is now available for members to review.

Close date for feedback is 12 December 2008.

Please mail responses to   Policy Co-ordinator, Bushwalking Victoria, PO Box 1007 Templestowe VIC 3106.

Go Further project

A project to enrich the walking experiences of local community walking groups

In 2007 Bushwalking Victoria was funded $40,000 by Sport and Recreation Victoria, a Victorian Government agency, to implement the Go Further Project.   Go Further aimed to increase bushwalking participation in the community by developing and implementing a plan to engage with local community walking groups to provide support and expertise and to encourage them to 'go further'.
