Recent Submissions

The Bushwalking Victoria environment committee deals with all land management issues affecting the integrity and bushwalking amenity of our natural areas. The committee contributes to the formulation of public land management plans and provides additional comment at draft stage and prepares submissions regarding the preservation and integrity of natural areas.

Go Further Project
A project to enrich the walking experiences of local community walking groups

In 2007 Bushwalking Victoria was funded $40,000 by Sport and Recreation Victoria, a Victorian Government agency, to implement the Go Further Project. Go Further aimed to increase bushwalking participation in the community by developing and implementing a plan to engage with local community walking groups to provide support and expertise and to encourage them to 'go further'.

The Great Australian Cancer Bushwalk
An Invitation to Bushwalkers

On 5th May 2008 Melbourne teacher, Michael Mitchell commenced a bushwalk from Cape York, Queensland to Wilsons Promontory, Victoria. He is scheduled to reach The Prom 13 months and 6,000km later, on 27 June 2009.

Michael’s motivation is his aim to raise $1M for the benefit of The Cancer Council.

Members of bushwalking clubs and bush walkers in general are invited to join him along his trek through Queensland, NSW, ACT & Victoria.

Support the aims of Bushwalking Victoria and help promote the interests of all bushwalkers by joining today.

Bushwalking Victoria has changed its constitution to allow individuals to join rather than just clubs. We can now be more representative of all bushwalkers in Victoria.
