Recognition and Service Awards
In 2008 Bushwalking Victoria announced an Awards Scheme to recognise outstanding contributions made by individuals or clubs to bushwalking in Victoria.   These awards acknowledge the dedication of those whose special efforts have made a difference.

The inaugural awards were presented to recipients at a special ceremony following the 2009 Presidents Conference and 2009 Annual General Meeting on Saturday 20 June. For full details, see the About us page.

Beyond the Scroggin Eaters - a continuing history of Bushwalking Victoria
Beyond the Scroggin Eaters fills in the major highlights, achievements and activities of the 20 years since The Scroggin Eaters: A History of Bushwalking in Victoria, by Graeme Wheeler was published in 1989. See the 75th Anniversary page for more information.

2010 Calendar - Capturing the spirit of Victoria for bushwalkers
Following the success of the 2009 Bushwalking Victoria 75th Anniversary Calendar, BWV has decided to produce a 2010 calendar.  All proceeds from sale of the calendar will go to the BWV Bushfire Recovery Fund.

The format of the calendar will be the same as the 2009 75th Anniversary Calendar with a month to each opening with an A4 size photo and a details page.  The details page includes a smaller photo, information of interest to walkers such as sunrise and sunset times and full moon dates, and plenty of space to write in appointments.  Click the following link to see a sample photo and information page - sample (PDF, 306k)

Support Bushwalking Victoria by purchasing one. Promote bushwalking in Victoria by purchasing additional copies for friends and family. They make a nice gift for sending interstate or overseas.
The cost is $10 each. We would prefer orders to be placed through clubs to make distribution easier (distribution will be done by volunteers.)  The calendars will be distributed to clubs by mid-October.

Packcarryvic - an initiative to encourage and facilitate overnight walks
Packcarryvic is a new web-based group created by BWV to encourage Bushwalking Victoria affiliated club members and BWV individual members to take part in overnight hikes.  The group and its walks are to be facilitated through the use of a Wiki, which is essentially a web site that is simple to access and maintain using every-day web browsers.

The packcarryvic Wiki is a members only site so the first thing you need to do register to become a  member using the instructions in the following document: User instructions (PDF, 12k)
